He was born June 5, 1959 in Bristol, TN, son of Joe and Hulda Steele Cox.
He was a retired Marine Gunnery Sgt in the United States Marines having served in Desert Storm. After his retirement he was employed as a supervisor at the U.S. Postal service in Johnson City, TN.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Cox and Michael Cox.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Col. Dennis Hamm officiating.
The burial will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Vanover Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post 3/265 of Kingsport and the Tennessee Army National Guard.
The family will receive friends from 2-4PM prior to the service on Sunday or other times at the home of his parents, Joe and Hulda at 428 Old Weaver Pike Bluff City, TN 37618.
