Adelaide H. Howley was born about 1914, a daughter of Anna B. Howley.

She married John D. "Sparky" Matthews, and they became the parents of a daughter and two sons.

At the age of 89, Adelaide H. Matthews died on Saturday, March 15, 2003.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, William and Edward Howley.

She was survived by a daughter, Janet M. Tatters of North Huntingdon; two sons, John D. Matthews of Stow, Ohio, and Ronald W. Matthews of Wilmington, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
