GREENWOOD - Lester James Adams went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2014.

Born in Greenwood on March 4, 1921, Mr. Adams was the son of the late Orrie M. Adams and Minnie Collison Adams.

Growing up, he had attended the Woodenhawk School in Greenwood, Del. Mr. Adams started the Adams Fruit Market on Rt. 404 near Greenwood in 1964. He had been a truck driver and a millwright. He was a member of the Lodge #534 Loyal Order of Moose in Harrington, Del. and the Eastern Shore Fox Hunters' Club. He loved to travel and camp, especially to the Bloomsburg, Pa. Fair. He was a great husband and father who enjoyed antiques, coca cola items, baseball, and would only own a Ford.

He is predeceased by two sons, Jerry Adams and Larry Adams; two brothers, Maurice Adams and Roy Adams; and a sister, Jessie Williamson.

Mr. Adams is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Adams of Greenwood; three daughters, Linda Parkhurst (Fred) of Greenwood, Judy Nalley (Mike) of Greenwood, and Joan Maloney (Oscar) of Federalsburg, Md.; two sons, Jamie Adams of Greenwood and Jeff Adams of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Brian Parkhurst (Theresa), Alex Barday, Brandy Horseman (Chris), Dale Johnson (Jessica), Zach Nalley, and Shania Nalley; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kizer, Harper, and Marilynn.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18th, at the Denton Wayside Church in Christian Union at 26995 Shore Highway near Denton, Md. where friends may call from 10 until 11 before the service. The interment will follow in the Bloomery United Methodist Church Cemetery in Smithville, Md. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to the Denton Wayside Church in Christian Union, 26995 Shore Highway, Denton, MD 21629.
