George Howard Reeder, 90, died February 1, 2008, after a short stay at a convalescent center in Bountiful, Utah.

George was born to Martin L. and Ella V. Reeder on September 18, 1917 in Brigham City, Utah. Because there already was a George Reeder in the family he spent most of his life known as Howard. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1935 and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Biology. He married Jean Dalton from Willard, Utah and then served in the Army during World War II where he spent much of the war stationed near San Francisco, California.

At the conclusion of World War II, Howard began a career with United Air Lines. He worked there during the early years of data processing and eventually retired as an assistant treasurer to the company.

During his marriage to Jean Dalton, four children were born. They lived in Hillsborough, California and then moved to Deerfield, Illinois where they resided for many years. Howard and Jean later divorced.

Upon retirement from United Air Lines, Howard moved back to Utah, and while there married Doris Jeannette Adams. They resided in Centerville, Utah.

Howard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church callings during his lifetime. His hobbies included fishing, dancing, traveling, and working in his yard. He was also a rabid fan of BYU football and all other sports activities of his children and grandchildren.

Howard is survived by three of his children, Alan Reeder-Camponi (Sandra Porter) of St. Petersburg, FL; Kirk Reeder (Vickie) of Pocatello, ID; and Lu Jean Albrecht of Lake Forest, IL. Preceded in death by Kedrick Doyle Reeder, (a son) who died a few days following his birth. He was also preceded in death by Jean Dalton and Doris Jeannette Adams, his parents, and all of his eight brothers and sisters.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City between 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10th. Burial will be on Mon. morning at the Brigham City, Utah Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all individuals and family members who assisted Howard during the time before his passing.
