Bonnie Jean Asmussen age 86, formerly of Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 am. A private inurnment will be held a later date at the Neodesha City Cemetery. The family has suggested memorial be made to the W A Rankin Library and may be left at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on August 23, 1927 in Neodesha, Kansas to Lloyd and Elizabeth (McNamara) Garrett. She graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1945; and attended Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas.
She married Carl E. Asmussen on December 25, 1946 in Neodesha; he preceded her in death on July 13, 2013.
Survivors include sons, Mark Asmussen of Wes Monroe, LA, Robert Asmussen of Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law, Vickie Asmussen of Neodesha, KS; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Eric; three brothers and three sisters.
