BRIDPORT - Gene Alan Oliver, 46, passed away as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
Gene was born on August 27, 1967 to Dexter and Ruth (Denett) Oliver at Porter Hospital in Middlebury.
He grew up in Bridport, attending Bridport Central School, the Patricia Hannaford Career Center and was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School, class of 1985.
He was employed as a machinist at Velan Valve in Williston for over 20 years.
Gene had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tractor pulling.
He was a member of the Oliver Pulling Team and the Vermont Tractor Pulling Association.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Cleo Oliver and Vincenzo and Bernice Fucile; maternal grandfather Richard Denett; and uncle Vincent Fucile.
