Marie Kinkel immigrated from Battenberg, Prussia, about 1882. Marie and five of her brothers, of a family of eleven children, all came to America around this time. They all ended up in Colorado.
The parents were Henry/Henrich (possibly George) Kinkel and Wilhilmine Feisel. She married William Dutemeyer on 3 Jan 1884, in Gunnison, CO. William Dutemeyer had come to this country about 1858.
In November, 1897, her brothers Louis and Charles were called to Gunnison from their home in Ft. Morgan, CO, due to their sister's serious illness. She had a brain abscess [possibly an aneurysm in today's medical terminology]. The brothers brought their sister to Denver for treatment, which proved ineffective. Marie died, and was buried by her family on November 12, 1897, in Fairmount Cemetery.
