Jay W. McCall 73, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 12:30 P.M. Thursday August 21, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on September 1, 1940 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Herman and Dorothy (Dennie) McCall. On September 19, 1964 in Rochester, Indiana, he married Willodean “Dean” Jacobs and she survives.
Mr. McCall had worked as a custodian at Riddle Elementary School for many years. He had been a member of the Rochester Jaycees and had attended the First Church of God. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, carpentry and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Dean McCall, Rochester, Indiana, daughter, Misti and husband Mike Grubb, Hanahan, South Carolina, sons, Matt and wife Jody McCall, Rochester, Indiana, Mark and wife Kelly McCall, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Grady McCall, Ashly McCall, Blake Grubb, Landon Grubb, Kendall Grubb, Sophia and Sylvia McCall, sister, June Berquist, Massillon, Ohio, sister-in-law, Janet McCall, Westfield Center, Ohio, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Austin McCall, brother, Larry McCall, and sister, Patsy Scott.
