Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 1998, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville and 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. Francis Geigel will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with Sr. Marlene Greatens, homilist. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The former Lioba Geigel was born December 29, 1916, in the town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John and Mary Stahl, Geigel. She attended school at St. Mary's School, Clarks Mills. On Octoober 21, 1941, she was married to Edwin J. Sauer, at Reedsville. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in October. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin, Taus; one son and daughter-in-law, Harlan (Connie) Sauer, Whitelaw; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Darlene (Robert) Grall, Whitelaw, Sandra (Ji) Barnes, Manitowoc, Gloria (Raymond) Lisowe, Stockbridge, Victoria Lau, Kiel, Cynthia (Wayne) Siehr, Manitowoc, Melissa (Dennis) Duggan, rural Whitelaw; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Adela Dvorachek, rural Whitelaw; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Gilbertson; two sons-in-law, Donald Spaeth and Russel Lau; three brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home in Kellnersville on Wednesday (TONIGHT) from 4-8 p.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. led by Sr. Greatens and on Friday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Lioba's family would like to thank the staff of North Ridge edical and Rehabilitation Center for their caring and concern for Mom in her stay there.
