Agnes M. Sauer age 98, a resident of the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center died there on Tuesday morning, January 8, 2013.

The former Agnes Kubs was born on September 8, 1914 in Friendship, WI daughter of the late Jacob and Anastasia (Tepley) Kubs. She grew up and attended school in Maribel. On July 15, 1931 Agnes was married to Raymond J. Sauer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Agnes was foremost a homemaker but was one of the sewing instructors for Singer Sewing Machine Co. and did work in retail at J.C. Penney's and Berks all prior to her retirement. After the couple's retirement they lived in Ocala, FL from 1971-1990. Raymond preceded Agnes in death on November 22, 1990 and Agnes moved back to Manitowoc in 1993.

Agnes was very active at her church in Kellnersville and Florida. She was an avid promoter of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the rosary. She was always very active in her community wherever she lived. Agnes was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community. She loved flowers, gardening, crafts and sewing having sewn dresses for all her girls and clothes for her son as they were growing up. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who loved everyone.

Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law: Lucille (Ed) Wallander Jr., Manitowoc; Charlotte (Bob) Brunner, Pelham, AL; Annette (Mike) Flatley, Ellicott City, MD; Janet (Dick) Szalewski, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Andrew (Linda) Sauer, Mishicot; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law: John (BK) Kubs, Weston, FL; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Clara (Harvey) Petska, Manitowoc; Anna Sauer, Manitowoc; Jim (Adeline) Sauer, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jacob and Anastasia Kubs; her husband: Raymond J. Sauer; infant son: Raymond Sauer; three grandsons: Baby Wallander, Randall Sauer and Robert D. Brunner; one great granddaughter: Jill Wallander; one great grandson: Scotty Sauer; infant sister: Angeline Kubs; one sister and brother-in-law: Anastasia (Adam) Detloff; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Emil (Mae) Kubs and Anthony (Lotus) Kubs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The Rev. Ronald Colombo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is serving the Sauer family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Agnes's family would like to extend a thank you to all those at Southern Care Hospice who helped care for Mother, especially Lora and Jackie; the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center's New Horizon staff who loved and cared for Mother so tenderly as well as Nancy Becker for being part of her family; and Nancy Fuller and her staff at Whitetail Estates for loving and caring for Mom.
