Pearl Bertha Bixenman was born Aug. 30, 1913 in Helena, Mont., to Lyman and Fanny Welcher Probert. At a young age she moved to Utah, where she met and married Lester L. Bixenman on July 11, 1934. The couple moved to Bremerton in 1940 and to Bainbridge Island in 1944.

Mrs. Bixenman was employed by Bainbridge Island School District as a cook for 20 years, retiring in 1979.

She was a longtime member of Seabold Community Club, Bertha Rogers Guild of Children's Hospital and Medical Center and Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed bowling with the senior citizen's league.
