Miss Eloise R. Comstock, daughter of the late Calvert Comstock of this city, died on Wednesday evening at the Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York, aged 38 years. She had been in Europe since June 1882, and last winter, while traveling in Germany, her health failed. After consulting without avail, she finally turned her steps homeward. She arrived in New York on Monday evening, so reduced that it was with difficulty that she was removed to the hotel, where she died as above related. Her brother, ex-Mayor Edward Comstock, of this city, and her sisters, Miss Ella Comstock and Mrs. S. N. D. North of Utica, were with her when she died. The remains were brought to Rome yesterday and will be interred this afternoon. She was a very estimable lady, and many friends will mourn her death.
