DARDANELLE - Sarah Elizabeth "Polly" Boles, age 73, died November 25, 1980 in a Little Rock hospital. She was born November 24, 1907, at Ola, Ark. to Arthur W. and Georgia Taylor. Mrs. Taylor passed away when Polly was 2 years old and she was reared by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Millner, and her aunt Miss Adele Millner. Mrs. Boles had been an active member of the Christian Church both at Ola and Dardanelle and was instrumental in the organization of the Dardanelle Band Mothers and served as their first president. Efforts of the band mothers led to the purchase of the first uniforms for the Dardanelle band.

She is survived by her husband, Gorden Boles; one son, John Gorden Boles, Sherwood; one daughter, Sylvia Ann Hayes, Mount Pleasant, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. E. H. Frazier, Dardanelle; an aunt, Miss Adele Millner, Ola; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Funeral services were at 2 p. m. November 28 at Cornwell Chapel with the Rev. J. Hillman Byram officiating. Burial was at Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Pallbearers were M. M Croom, R. E. Warren, Fay Simmons, Carl Jaggers, Kevin Caughman and Gilbert Cornwell. Honorary bearers were Jess Keener, Everett Callan, David Croom, A. J. Croom, Walter Miller, D. O.
