Herman J. Ballman, 83, 230-23rd Ave. N, died at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Lieser officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home. Crosier Apostolate will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by the St. Anthony parish prayers at 8 p.m.
Mr. Ballman was born June 21, 1896, in Freeport to the late Fritz and Mary (Koopmeiners) Ballman. He married Barbara Thell Nov. 9, 1920, in St. Anthony.
He was employed at Great Northern Railroad for 43 years before retiring in 1962. He was a member of St. Anthony's Parish, Holy Name Society, Crosier Apostolate, Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks Local No. 434, W.M.B.A., and a past member of the Great Northern Association.
Survivors include his wife; son and daughter, Herbert, Minneapolis; Mrs. Kenneth (Rosemary) Lundwall, Bergland, Mich.; brother and sister, Mrs.William (Anna) Hoban, Minneapolis; Lawrence, Federal Way, Wash.; step-sister Mrs. Peter (Elizabeth) Kremer, St. Paul; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Mae Hall, Jan. 5, 1960; and a son, Anthony, July 15, 1975.
Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
