Rhoda married James Gadd in 1827 in Franklin County. They had seven children: Andrew Powhatan Gadd, James A. Gadd, Wilson T. Gadd, Sanford Pleasant Gadd, Harriet Elizabeth Gadd, Sarah Abigail Gadd and an infant son.
Mrs. Gadd died about 1888 in Washington County, Va.
