Paul Elwood McKinney, owner of MAC’s Batteries in Anaheim, passed away at Fountain Care Center in Orange, California Saturday 23rd of August. He was born at Sargeant Maternity Hospital in Santa Ana, California on July 15, 1940 to Everett A. McKinney and Alberta (Smith) McKinney. He lived in Santa Ana until December 1943 when he moved with his parents and siblings to a farm in Lane County, Oregon. Paul attended Pine Grove one-room country school and South Eugene High. While still a young boy, he learned from his mother that he could learn to do anything he wanted to try to do. He never forgot this. After he finished school, he worked for his father at Macs Batteries in Eugene, Oregon, learning the trade to repair and rebuild auto and truck batteries. Having learned all he could from his father, he moved to Anaheim, California to open his own Macs Battery Shop on Orangethrope Avenue.

Survivors include three brothers, John Charles (Dianne) of Longview, Washington, David Hiram (Wanda) of Portland, Oregon, and Everett Andrew McKinney (Tres) of San Francisco, and two sisters: Lulu Ann (Ray) Bowler of Carlisle, Iowa and Florence Ruth McKinney-Rickey of Seattle, Washington as well as nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed. He will be interred in the family plot at Fort Dodge Memorial Park, Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Omega Society is in charge of the services.
