Billie Jo Hooper, 83, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, at an Abilene hospital following a lengthy illness. Billie was born April 11, 1922, to Bert and Myrtle Barlow in Henderson County, Texas. She graduated from Canton High School and attended Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, Texas. Billie loved music and attended several Stamps Quartet Schools and performed with her father and sisters at monthly "singings". She was an accomplished pianist and organist. Billie married Alfred "Loyd" Hooper on April 10, 1966. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Loyd Hooper of Abilene; two daughters, Saundra Heddin Dean and husband David of Houston and Pamela Young Forte of Abilene; two sisters, Marie Lewis of Texarkana, Texas and Bette Sheffield of Sun City, Georgetown, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces ,nephews and friends. Billie was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.
