Robert J. Sherer, 97, of Fountain Hills, AZ passed away on November 27, 2010. Born on Nov. 25, 1913 , in Eaton, OH. He worked for the CCC and the CAB finishing with 30 yrs service. He was a WWII vet serving with the 6th Marine Division on Okinawa and in Korea. He joined Bonanza Airlines in 1956 and was with Air West until 1968, becoming VP/Finance. He went to Texas International Airlines as President until 1970. He then became VP/Finance of National Airlines and Pan American Airlines. He returned to Las Vegas to help establish Sun World Airlines. After its demise he became active with the Salvation Army and the Marine Corps League. In 2003 he moved to Fountain Hills where he cared for his wife until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; sons, Robert D., John and Steve, and daughter Alice; grandchildren Debra (Lucus), Chris (Spievak), Lillian and Megan Sherer; and great-grandchildren Jake and Grace Spievak.
At his request, there will be no memorial service. He was cremated and his ashes will be interred at the United Methodist Church at a later date. No flowers or contributions at his request.
