CAMBRIA — Ruth E. Manthey, age 77, of 322 East Edgewater Street in Cambria, Wisconsin, died on Friday evening, January 9, 1981, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, at 1:30 p.m. at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Cambria with the Reverend Ronald Tischer officiating. Burial will be in the Cambria Cemetery. Born on July 18, 1903, Mrs. Manthey was the daughter of Ernest Manthey and Otillie Schmaltz. She married William Manthey on September 20, 1922. She lived in the Cambria area her entire life. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid in which she held various offices. Survivors are a son, Chester of Rio; three daughters, Leila Healy, Mrs. Irene (Harry) Patchin and Mrs. Alice (Walter) Atkinson; a brother, Walter P. Manthey of Pardeeville; a sister, Hermina (William) Kreger of Cambria; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and six brothers.
