Irma H. Griedl, age 84 of Oshkosh, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Evergreen Retirement Home. On July 17, 1920, she was born in Oshkosh, the daughter of Joseph and Johanna (Schmidt) Loos. Irma was a 1938 graduate of Oshkosh High School and a 1942 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in business education.
She taught shorthand, typing and all commercial subjects in Escanaba High School, Escanaba, Michigan, Oshkosh High School, Winneconne High School and for 25 years she taught at Fox Valley Tech. Her life was devoted to teaching. She enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Irma was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On July 10, 1948 she was married to Robert Griedl at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2004.
Survivors include one brother: Richard Loos of Plover, WI and two sisters, Esther Benner, Bellingham, Washington, and Theresa Kindig, Nevis, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 15 siblings, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Reynebeau as celebrant. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home
