Services for Fred Swayze Yancey Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis with Brother Dan Seay officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery.

Yancey, 70, of Natchitoches died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday in Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria, LA. He was a native of Brookhaven Miss., and a retired salesman. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Fopay Yancey of Natchitoches; three sons. Richard Edwin Yancey of Friendswood, Texas, William Rufus Yancey of Lewisville. Texas, and Walter Earl Yancey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two daughters, Myrna Alice Robertson of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and Grace Lee Hewlett of Frieburg, Germany; two sisters, Mariam "Twitter" Byars of Denham Springs, Louisiana and Mignonne White of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one brother, Kenneth Yancey of Irving, Texas; 15 grandchildren ana three great-grandchildren.
