Daniel Valdivia, 75, of Muscatine, died on Monday, August 25, 2014, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Troy Richmond will officiate. Casket bearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with a Rosary following at 7pm. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Daniel was born on February 19, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Ramiro and Jenny Juna Valdivia. He married Caroline Gonzales on July 12, 1969, in Los Angeles, California. She preceded him in death.

He retired from the Muscatine School System in 2000. He was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. He was a 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golf, darts, and was an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan.

Those left to honor his memory include two sons, Daniel B. Valdivia and wife, Sandra, of Bettendorf, and David B. Valdivia of Moline; one daughter, Theresa J. Valdivia of Taylorsville, Utah; four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one brother, Ramiro Valdivia and wife, Carol, of Ogden, Utah; and one sister, Molly Cervantez and husband, Frank, of Topeka, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, "Bobby" Baudelio; and three sisters, Eloise Valdivia, Carmen (Luis) Olvera and Maria Guadalupe Valdivia.
