Not strongly domestic or concerned with money. Generous to her children and grandchildren and to charity. Retired to Florida after her husband died in 1948. Enjoyed a game of cards. Mrs. Edith (Hateway) [(Hatheway)] Abbe, 96, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Longmeadow and Suffield, Conn., died Tuesday [11 Nov 1975] in Boynton Beach, Fla. She was the widow of Earle [Earl] C. Abbe, former vice president of the Moore Co. [Moore Drop Forging Co.], Springfield. She was a member of Unity Church of West Palm Beach, Fla. She leaves a son Earle [Earl] H. of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Newberry [Newbury], N.H.; four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday morning [15 Nov 1975] at the Dickinson-Streeter funeral home. Burial will be in Grove cemetery, Windsor Locks, Conn.

Age 96, of 201 North Flagler Dr., West Palm Beach, passed away November 11th. Mrs. Abbe had lived in the Florida area for the past 25 years coming from Suffield, Connecticut and Long Meadow [sic], Massachusetts.

She attended the Unity Church, West Palm Beach. Survived by one son, Earl H. Abbe of Boynton Beach; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Scobee Combs Funeral Home Boynton Beach, Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Springfield, Mass.
