Kenneth Parker Abbe was an extremely sociable person. He was a Freemason. For a period in his youth, with his brother Earl Hatheway Abbe, he ran Lakewood Manor, their father's resort hotel in Newbury, NH. He returned to this profession in his later years when he ran the Lee Manor Inn in Boynton Beach, Florida and then a cocktail lounge. He liked the dog races and loved a drink, a cigarette and conversation. He died at home in Lantana, FL, of cirrhosis of the liver.

Boynton Beach, FL, Dec. 21--Funeral services for Kenneth Abbe, 44, of Lantana, will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Scobee Funeral Home, Delray Beach. He was found dead by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Wells Abbe, upon waking Sunday [20 Dec 1953] morning.

Mr. Abbe, who came here from New Haven, Conn., was operational manager of a steel forging company in Connecticut [in Springfield MA - the Moore Drop Forge Co.] before coming to Boynton.

KENNETH ABBE. Mr. Abbe, 44, Lantana, businessman, died in his sleep Saturday night at his home, Euclid Ave., and was found by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Wells Abbe, when she went to awaken him Sunday morning.

Mr. Abbe was born in New Haven, Conn., and lived most of his life in Massachusetts. He was operations manager for a steel forging company in Connecticut prior to moving to Lantana three years ago.

Upon coming to Lantana, Mr. Abbe bought Lee Manor Inn, S. Federal Hwy., Boynton Beach, and a year ago he purchased Ken's Club, at Boynton Beach.

He was a member of the Congregational Church, Long Meadow [Longmeadow], Mass., the Elks, Masons and Shriners.

Services will be held at 7:30 tonight at Scobee Chapel, Delray Beach. Burial will take place at Springfield, Mass.

In addition to his wife, survivors included the mother, Mrs. Edith Abbe, Boynton Beach; two sons, Kenneth Abbe, Jr., New Haven, Conn., and Thomas J., Lantana; daughter, Miss Kathleen Abbe, Lantana, and brother, Earl H., Long Meadow, Mass.
