Frances Elizabeth Elley, 79, was born on July 21, 1935, in Lenox, Iowa. Frances Elizabeth Elley She was reared in Monte Vista, Colo., and resided in Walsenburg, Colo. Frances passed away peacefully at her present home at the Sharmar Village in Pueblo on Monday morning, Aug. 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Elley; mother, Martha Aigaki; father, Ralph Wallace; stepfather, Bill Horning; sister, Mary Henry; brother, Billy Joe Horning; and grandparents, Joe Henry and Martha Elizabeth Holmes. Frances is survived by her stepfather, Charlie Aigaki; her sister, Martha (Dwayne) Eklund; five brothers, Gary, Norman, Roger, Brian and Sean Wallace; children, Renette (David) Magnino, Lonnie (Rosalie) Elley, Suzanne (Charles) Verderaime and Thomas (Melody) Elley; 10 grandchildren, Brock, Bryson and Brierre Magnino, Carl (Jess) Elley, Loni Marie (Dan) Obluda, Ryan, Matthew and Vincent Verderaime, Olivia and Kiana Elley; three great- grandchildren, Sam, Emma and Mario; and a special friend, Earl Schroeder. Frances was a leader in 4-H for over 40 years and was loved by so many for her leadership and inspiration. She also was a very active local and state member of FCE for many years. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at New Hope Community Church, 801 Pennsylvania Ave., in Walsenburg. Burial will follow immediately at the La Veta Cemetery in La Veta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Frontier Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association or your local 4-H club. Johnson-Romero Funeral Home of Walsenburg is in charge of arrangements.
