Her mother, Jane Taylor was born in Mollington, England, DOB: 8/23/1839 - DOD: 10/25/1916. Jane married David French.

David French, DOB: 12/16/1832 in Mollington, England. His DOD: 1/4/1913. He may have been the brother of Henry French and Elizabeth uknown. Henry French, DOB: 8/27/1819 - DOD: 9/16/1859. Elizabeth, DOB: 5/22/1828 - DOD: 7/10/1873

Her parents, David and Jane, came to the USA in 1873, with five of their 11 children.

Alice's sisters were:

Mary Jane French Goodman, DOB: 9/10/1859 - DOD: 7/29/1940, married George S. Goodman, DOB: 1/1/1858 - DOD: 7/22/1935. Mary Jane French Goodman and her husband, George had: Emily A. (Emma) who married Frank Martin on September 27, 1910. Emma and Frank had three sons: George Martin, who married Mary T. (unknown); Robert "Pork" Martin, DOD: 1996 and Edward Martin. Emma and Frank had a daughter, Isabel Martin Polt, DOB: 7/12/1916, who married Robert or Bob Polt and they had two children, Judy and Billie. Other Goodman children where: Edith; Viola Mae, DOB: 1887 - DOD: 1928; David, DOB: 1889 - DOD: 1962, Indian Orchard, married to Lillie Gregory, DOB; 1891 - DOD: 1981; Cora; Alice; and, Grace, who married Archie Brown. Their children were Morris, Evelyn and Shirley.

Her father, David, worked for Elias T. Beers for 11 years. He later purchased the Beemer place and eventually sold it to his son William. David, died at home on South Erie Street, Honesdale, PA. His funeral services were at his home and he is buried in Indian Orchard Cemetery.

Her mother, Jane, died at her son, Rueben's home and is buried in the Indian Orchard Cemetery.

Alice married Frederick Brooks, of New York City, on Saturday morning, February 2, 1907 at the parsonage of the Honesdale Methodist Church, by Rev. Will H. Hiller. She was attended by Kathryn Colwell and Albert French, brother of the bride was the best man. They left on the 8:40 train for a short trip to New York City and New London, Conn. They made their home in East Orange, NJ. Her huband was employed as a chef at the Yale Club, 17 Madison Avenue, New York City. Later, Frederich became a dining car steward for the Canadian Pacific Railway Co.'s Telegraph.

Later, Alice and Frederick moved to Columbia Road, Elwood, Atlantic County, New Jersey to operate a chicken farm.

They had three children:

Adelaide Brooks Milne, DOB: August 14, 1909 - DOD: May 16, 1991, born in Honesdale, PA, married Lewis Haws Milne, DOB: - DOD: 12/18/1983, on 7/3/1935. Adelaide had two sons: Lewis Brooks Milne, DOB: 7/2, married to Gail Edelbach, DOB: 1/05, on 7/13/1963. Lewis had two children: a daughter Bonnie Louise; DOB: 11/16, and a son, Eric "Rici" Lewis Milne, DOB: 1/23; and, Alice's son, Donald Grahm Milne, DOB: 4/13; married Marjorie Day Milne, DOB: 10/26, on (date), at the St. John's Church, Egg Harbor City, NJ. They had two children: son David Gregory, 4/14; and Allison Joy, 3/28;

and Alice's son,

Jack Clough Brooks, DOB: October 5, 1911 and DOD: December 8, 1994, born in Honesdale, PA, married to Myrtle McAnny DOB: 6/17/1916 - DOD: (date), on 10/22/1939. Jack adopted a daughter, Karla Sue Brooks Graybell, DOB: 7/1, married to Timothy Graybell, on (date), at the Emmanual Congragational Church, Egg Harbor City, NJ, and they had three children: two daughters Julie DOB: 10/18, Becky DOB: 3/1, and a son Justin, DOB: 8/28;

and, Alice's daughter,

Marjorie Jane Brooks Gries, DOB: April 14, 1917 - DOD: March 12, 1995, born in Elwood, Atlantic County, NJ, married to George Ernest Gries, DOB: 9/24/1912 - DOD: 1998, on 6/9/1940, at Zion Lutheran Church, Egg Harbor City, NJ. Marjorie J. had one daugther, Marjorie Alice Gries (Roesler 1st) Garwood (2nd) , DOB: 5/1, married to (Stephen H. Roesler 1st) 5/25/1975, and they had one adopted daughter, Christin F. Roesler DOB: 7/11/1982. Marjorie A. married Frederich R. Garwood (2nd), DOB: 4/8, ON 7/8/1989, Zion Lutheran Church, Egg Harbor City, NJ, and a step-son, Michael R. Garwood, 8/25.

Alice and her husband, Frederick, divorced. Adelaide and Jack lived with Alice in Elwood and Marjorie lived with her father on Weymouth Avenue, Elwood, NJ. (Colailie Track). Alice evetually went to live with her son, Jack, in Egg Harbor City, NJ. However, she died at her daughter's home, Adelaide, on Buffalo Avenue, Egg Harbor City, NJ.

Alice died on Saturday, the 12th of February, 1949. A viewing was held on Tuesday evening and Funeral Services wer held Wednesday, February 16 at the Atwood Funeral Home, 1114 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City, NJ.

Aliced loved to cook and was a very sweet woman. She sold her pastry to travelers heading from Philadelphia to Atlantic City.
