Funeral Services Held for J. A. Mangum
Joseph Arthur Mangum, age 67, of Bienville passed away Friday night in a Shreveport Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM Sunday at the Union Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Octavia Mangum; three sons, Harold Mangum, Earl Mangum and Johnny Mangum, all of Texarkana; six daughters, Mrs. Katherine Pyles of Quitman, Mrs. Aline Scallion of Harbor, California, Mrs. Omie Bates and Mrs. Elouise Thomas both of Jonesboro, Mrs. Vera Bruce of Texarkana and Mrs. Joyce Harrison of Tacoma, Washington; two brothers, Walter Mangum of Texarkana and Buddy Mangum of Vicksburg, Mississippi; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Cole, Mrs. May Gresham, both of Quitman, Mrs. Bessie Bertie and Mrs. Vennie Stinnett, both of West Monroe; 24 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren also survive.
