Alice M. (Cook) Sachs, 88, of Allison Park, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011.
She was a war-time bride of the late Louis Sachs.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene (Sachs) Vanek; and her grandson, Matthew Jett Schaefer, She was a graduate of Shaler High School, a 1942 May Queen, a longtime employee and union steward of Gimbels Department Store in the North Hills Village.
She enjoyed craft shows, traveling with her husband and she helped organize and establish Passavant Hospital with bake sales and fund-raisers.
