US Senator. He served as a Member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives from 1838 to 1834, Justice of the New Hampshire State Supreme Court from 1838 to 1840, and from 1848 until his death in 1850, United States Senator from New Hampshire from 1842 to 1843, and as a Common Pleas Court Judge from 1847 to 1848.
