EMDEN -- Marjorie Catherine Waters, 87, of Godfrey, formerly of Emden, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 1995, at Eunice C. Smith Nursing Home in Alton.

Born Dec. 15, 1907, in Emden to William and Margaret Huffman Taylor, she married Creston "Buck" Waters on April 13, 1936, in St. Charles, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sylvia Rae Moran of Brighton, Mich.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two brothers, William Taylor of St. Charles and Eugene Taylor of Gardiner, Maine; and three sisters, Eleanora Benazet and Audrey Crider, both of Peoria, and Nettie Homes of Pekin. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two sisters and four brothers.

She was a checker with Walgreens drugstores, A&P grocery stores and retired from National Food Store in Godfrey in 1972. She was a member of the Retail Clerks Union in Alton.

Services were Saturday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial was in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to the Reye's Syndrome National Foundation.
