Last Rites Held for Andrew Jacobs
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Congregational
Church, in Uehling, for Andrew B. Jacobs, 86, former Swaburg
resident who passed away in an Omaha hospital last Wednesday,
having been in failing health the last two years. The Rev. Allen
Martin conducted the Wollmer & Warne service and interment was in
the Baptist Cemetery south of Uehling. LaNelle Clough and Carolee
Realph sang, with Mrs. Harvey Hilbers as pianist. Pallbearers were
Donald Carson, Jack Carson, Howard Olson, Ted Olson, Clyde Olson
and Edward Realph. Mr. Jacobs was born March 10, 1869 in Sweden,
and when one year old came to this country with his parents. They
settled in Omaha, three years later moving to a farm near Swaburg.
He lived in Nebraska all his life, the past 29 years in Omaha with
his children. He is survived by seven children; Mrs. Rudy Hingst of
Emerson, Leslie, Weldon, Mildred Nash, Florence Nelson, Violet Salb
and Bernice Barge, all of Omaha, 11 grandchildren, 8 great
grandchildren, a brother, Alfred of Craig, and three sisters, Mrs.
Christine Erickson of Uehling; Mrs. Mabel Carson of Oakland; and
Mrs. May Anderson of Hawarden, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a
son.
