Verna was born to Frank Adams and Katherine Cravillion in Luxemburg, Wisconsin.

Her obituary begins like this;
"Veronica “Verna” Leona LeFevre died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 1st at her home in the Appleton Retirement Community in Appleton, WI. She was 100 years old.

Verna was born Veronica Leona Adams to Frank and Katherine(Cravillion) Adams on April 13, 1914 in Luxemberg, WI. She grew up on her family’s farm on the Belgian Road in Lena with her ten siblings, Agnes, Joseph, Clarence, Marie, Lucille, Marvin, Evelyn, Jule, Cyril, and Ira, and attended school in a two-room schoolhouse on Sunny Brook Road. She married Eugene LeFevre on September 15, 1931 in Lena, Wisconsin, and had five children, Ronald, Wayne, Mary, Anita, and Lynn. Lovingly referred to by her many grandchildren as “Grandma Appleton,” she moved to Appleton with her family in the 1940s, where she became a longtime member of St. Therese Catholic Church and an active member of the community. A talented sewer, she welcomed new babies, marriages, and milestones with beautiful hand-made quilts and pajamas that her friends and family treasured. She became a cherished part of many families as a trusted babysitter and caregiver, and was loved as a godmother and “surrogate” grandmother by many. She emphasized the importance of family and faith above all else, and became a trusted spiritual guide to those lucky enough to know her.

She is survived by.........Plus numerous friends at Appleton Retirement Community Center like Anna, Faye, and so many others, along with countless friends from working at Jacob's Market, St. Therese Church, babysitting, the Park in Market, Bingo, and more."

She is predeceased by her husband Eugene, her children Mary LeFevre, Ronald LeFevre and Wayne LeFevre, all of her siblings Agnes Halstead, Joseph Adams, Clarence Adams, Marie Merzerka, Lucille Jansen, Marvin Adams, Evelyn Sincere, Jule Adams, Cyril Adams, and Ira Adams, her grandson Stuart LeFevre and many other relatives and special friends.

A Mass of Resurrection will take place at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 6th, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. Friends may visit at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel on Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm with a prayer service beginning at 7 pm and directly at the church on Saturday from 11:30 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton on Monday, September 8th."
