Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Dickey passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014, at her home.
Daisy Cook Dickey was born April 2, 1917, in Hennepin, Oklahoma to Arthur and Elnora (Williams) Cook. She attended Booker T. Washington School. On February 1, 1934, she and Malcolm Dickey were united in marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her on July 5, 2007. Mrs. Dickey worked at Kelwood Manufacturing Plant in Frederick for many years. She was a loyal supporter and helping hand to the Boyd Alumni Association. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she served as Church Mother and former Sunday School Superintendent. She was a member of the Tipton Garden Club and enjoyed painting.
She is survived by two sons, Malcolm Dickey, Jr. of Yuma, Arizona and Robert Dickey of Lawton, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mildred Shipley of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mattie McCutchen of Seattle, Washington and Billie Payne and her husband Lerron of Tipton, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Troy, Hubert and Paul Dickey; two daughters, Lillian Jones and Ruby Lee; four sisters; one brother and one great-grandson.
