Much is written about Duncan Green(e) Campbell and Duncan's son who was named after this John Archibald Campbell, Duncan's son was John Archibald Campbell (1811-1889).

p14 "Though the Campbells had never been to Alabama, they were already related to or familiar with a substantial number of influential people in central Alabama. During the 1820s, several members of the Campbell family – including [John Archibald] Campbell's [1811-1889] paternal grandfather – migrated to Montgomery, Alabama, and these people probably suggested that Mary [L. Williamson] Campbell and her family move there as well."

Mary L Williamson Campbell (1793-1862) was Duncan Greene Campbell's widow and mother of John Archibald Campbell (1811-1889).] (John) Archibald Campbell is buried with Margaret Jane Towns, identified on the tombstone, as his daughter.
In Oakwood Cemetery are disposed the remains of this Archibald Campbell [no specific birthdate proven] and died 1820 as well as that of John A. G. Campbell born 1818 and died 1848 verified with interment records and death notices.
