"Robert G. Holmes, 52, former long-time Garden City resident, died Thursday at Globe, Ariz. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
"Mr. Holmes was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Finney County and lived here until 1959 when he moved to Globe. He owned and operated a car repair shop in Globe.
"He married Donna Millard July 31, 1937, in Scott City. Mr. Holmes was a member of the Elks Lodge.
"Three brothers preceded him in death.
"Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Adams, Holcomb and Mrs. Sandra Whitworth, Globe; a son, Robert Holmes Jr., of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Merrill Dailey, 1107 N. 11th, Mrs. W.D. Preisser, Lamar, Colo., and Mrs. Lona Riggs, Watkins, Colo.; six brothers, Johnnie Holmes, Sublette, Charles Holmes, Harrisburg, Neb., Ronald Holmes, Englewood, Colo., Norman Holmes, Derby, Colo., Garfield Holmes Jr., Castle Rock, Colo., and Gilbert Holmes, Pueblo, Colo.; and six grandchildren.
"Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Garnand Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sid Raymond of the Lakin Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
"Friends may call at Garnand's Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m."
