CROSSWAY, Patricia (Hickey) Patricia (Hickey) Crossway, wife of Wayne Crossway, passed away Monday evening, (January 23, 2006) at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Hartford, on December 20, 1952, to Walter and Dorothy (Braman) Hickey of Rocky Hill. Employed at Liberty Specialty Care in Colchester for many years as a bookkeeper, she was asked to move on to the parent company, Apple Healthcare in March of 2000. An avid reader, lover of music and fan of the UConn Huskies and New York Yankees, she will be missed by all who knew her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, always there when a friend or family member needed advice. Called "Mom" by all of her children's friends, she was loved by everyone who met her. On April 12, 1975, Pat married Wayne Crossway and they spent almost 31 years as soulmates. They have three children, Erin, Kati and Walter Crossway, all of Colchester. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her sister, Marge Foreman of Coventry; father-in-law, Francis Crossway of Zephyrhills, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Kevin McDonnell of Hebron; brother-in-law, Mark Crossway of Kensington; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, mother-in-law, Antoinette (Roberts) Crossway, brother Richard and sisters, Barbara, Marion and Betty. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill, Saturday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Patricia's name to the American Lung Association.

Mom Crossway is also survived by her granddaughter, Hailey Elizabeth Crossway and her grandson, Samuel Patrick Crossway, and their mother, Michelle (Long) Crossway.

Mom Crossway was a wonderful woman. She was there for my brother and me when no one else was. Mom watched me grow up with her own kids, and she helped me through many, many bad times. She was there for the good times, too. I remember calling her to tell her I was getting married and she was so happy. When my son was born she called herself "Grandma Mom" and showed his pictures to the folks she worked with-and referred to him as her Grandson. I miss Mom every single day and I always will.
