Bernard R. Berlinski, 84, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in West Natrona, a son of the late Boleslaus and Stanislava Ozimek Berlinski. Bernard was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Air Force. He retired in 1992 after 44 years of service from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge, where he worked in the No. 3 Department. Bernard was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance in New Kensington. An avid fisherman, Bernard enjoyed gardening, traveling, the Civic Light Opera, raising tropical fish and spending time with his granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jenny Hopkins Berlinski; his daughters, Denise (Marc) Aiello, of Oakmont, and Julia (Kenneth) Kulczyski, of Monroeville; and by his granddaughter, Gillian Aiello. He is also survived by numerous cousins. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, the time of services, in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. George Beattie. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bernard may be made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068.
