Born in Boston, MA on December 26, 1933 she was a loving daughter of the late Stewart H. and Mertice (Arlington) MacKenzie, Sr. Also the late Rose E. (Murphy) MacKenzie.
She grew up in Brockton and was educated in Brockton schools. Mrs. MacKenzie worked in customer service at McDonalds Restaurant in Norton for 6 years before retiring and had also worked at Roache Brothers in Norton. Joan was a very outgoing people person, which made her a great success at work and made others around her feel comfortable.
Joan enjoyed crocheting and taking care of her pets. Her favorite times spent where those in the company of her family and friends. She was a longtime resident of Norton.
She is survived by her devoted sons Bruce Dadman of Taunton and Thomas F. Kelley and his wife Charmine of Attleboro. Her dear brothers and sisters: Stewart H. MacKenzie, Jr. of California, William MacKenzie of Maine, Michael MacKenzie of Florida, Daniel MacKenzie of Rhode Island, Jean Cassens of Washington, Rosemary Sweeney of Norton and the late June MacKenzie and Bonnie Lee MacKenzie. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Angalea Marie Kelley, Nicholas Kelley, Anthony Dadman and Kevin Dadman as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held at the Timothy plain Cemetery, Plain St., Norton MA.
