Early Monday Morning, October 1, 1898, the soul of Margaret Curl Drayden, the beloved wife of William Drayden of Carmichaels departed this life, and passed over to the home beyond. For years she had been an invalid, but in all her suffering there was a calm submission to the Father's will. She was a member of the New Providence Presbyterian church, and died in the full faith of the gospel. Mrs. Drayden was a good and faithful wife, a loving and devoted mother and a woman greatly beloved by all who knew her. Three daughters, Lyda, Jessie and Mary survive her, and they, with her husband, mother, brothers and sisters have the sympathy of a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday, at 2 pm by her pastor Rev. William M. Hudson, assisted by Rev. C. C. Russell. The remains were then laid to rest in the Carmichaels cemetery.
