Dalton Douglas Dyess, 84 years old, passed away on September 4, 2014 in La Porte, Texas. Born July 2, 1930 to mother Amelie Dyess in Galveston, Texas. Dalton was a current member of the 1st Baptist Church in Pasadena and took part in music ministry for 30 years including the 2nd Baptist Church in Pasadena.

Dalton is preceded in death by his Son Bill and Granddaughter Kim. Survivors include his Wife Jean Dyess, Daughters Cherie Mathena and Michael, Desi Witherwax, Sons David Dyess and Norma, Steve Dyess and Nancy, Grandchildren Brian Mathena, Christopher Mathena and Angelique, Julie Archer, Lindsey Cosby and Gabe, Jennifer Witherwax, Matthew Witherwax, Melanie Witherwax, Melissa McCallister, Stacie Torres, Tracie Quintana, Alex Dyess, Kyle Dyess, Great-Grandchildren Toby, Cadence, and Dalton.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday September 8, 2014 at 11:30AM at Forest Park East Cemetery with Minister Jon Redmond officiating.
