Edwin was born April 22, 1933, at South Heart, North Dakota, to Valentine and Anna (Luptak) Praus. He was raised and educated in a country school near South Heart. He served in the US Army during Korea, from June 1953 to July 1955. On June 5, 1982, he married Judy Broe in Bismarck. Over the years he worked in a steel mill in Torrance, California, bartender in Dickinson and Bismarck and worked in maintenance for Burleigh County Housing and Twin City Estates, Mandan.
He loved fishing, camping, and anything outdoors. He was an avid reader and coin collector. He looked forward to Wednesdays when he would go thrift store shopping with his special friend, Bob Laches. He was a member of the Bismarck American Legion and Bismarck AMVETS and Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy; three sisters, Betty (Gordon) Kadrmas, Eugene, Oregon, Joan Simon, Bismarck, Sylvia (Ray) Binstock, Dickinson; brother, Edward (Charlene), Hettinger; three children from a previous marriage, Susan, Annie and William; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Donald; mother-in-law, Ellen Broe; and brother-in-law, Frank Simon.
