Helen Roberta Wood, a daughter of Robert Sheridan Wood and the former Miss Susanna Edwards, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 12th day of July 1887. Her father was an engraver with the U.S. Mint.
On July 6th 1915, Helen married Malcolm Alexander Holliday of Staunton, Virginia. The would have three children:
Jean Malcolm (1916-2012)
Helen Virginia {m. Mitchell} (1920-2008)
Malcolm Alexander, Jr. (1924-2014)
After Malcolm died in 1931, Helen moved to Chalottesville; where she lived for the next 37 years.
