Born in Boston, he grew up in Milton, MA, the son of Karl and Emma Ahlberg. He was an alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, B.S. 1944; and completed the Harvard Business School, OMP-6.
He had been Vice-President of Endura Corporation in Quakertown, PA; and President of Koro Corporation in Hudson, MA. He was active over the years in many civic and church organizations as well as M.I.T. alumni affairs. He enjoyed downhill skiing and do-it-yourself-projects, and he loved sailing on Cape Cod Bay.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters: Jan Jones, Princeton, MA; Nancy Moore, San Marino, CA; Sally Pennell, Wayland, MA, Christine Ahlberg, Tiburon, CA; a stepdaughter, Dr. Alice Forsyth, Cape Coral, FL, and five grandchildren.
