Alice Louise Tanner, 84, Garden Lots, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Blue Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Laura (Tanner) Selig. She worked at National Sea Products, Lunenburg for a number of years until her retirement. She was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg and a member of the Mary Gormley Unit of the UCW. Alice was very close to all of her family and will be sadly missed. She is survived by son, Dana and his wife Bertha, Stonehurst; son-in-law, Cedric Nowe and companion Caroline Skinner, Garden Lots; sisters, Florence and her husband Collins Tanner, Blue Rocks; Isabel and her husband, George Dominix, Sweetland; grandchildren, Lynn, Christopher, and Trevor Nowe; Kurt, Betty, and Randy Tanner; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Morris Tanner; daughter, Geraldine Nowe; brothers, Dawson, George, Gordon, Allen; sisters, Elva Tanner and Edna Wilneff. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, with family visitation this evening from 7-9 p.m. and where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, Rev. Grace Caines-Corkum officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to any charity.
