Rose Mae Durbin, 85, of Big Sandy formerly of DeQuincy, passed away at her daughter's home in Big Sandy, TX
She was born September 11, 1928 in Vermillion Parish to Gustave and Philomine LaBove Lacomb. She married John Warren Durbin and were married for over 65 years before he passed away. Her parents and one son Zachary Durbin also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two children, Robert and his wife Sandy of Henderson, TX and Diane and her husband Charles Crabtree of Big Sandy, TX, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Theresa Istre of Orange, TX and Elda Hebert of Ragley, LA.

Rose was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette, where she was a member of the Altar Society and volunteered with the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry. She worked with the election commission and served as the treasurer for the Home Demonstration group.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm with a rosary starting at 6:30pm at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy and will resume Saturday at 9:00 am until start of service. A mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church in DeQuincy. Burial will follow the service at 1:30 pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
