Colby Ray Byers, 23, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014. Colby is survived by his mother, Susan Britt Maddox and her husband, Billy of Lynchburg; his father, Donald Ray Byers Jr. of Madison Heights and special friend, Kathy Harris of Lynchburg; two sisters, Brittany Lynn Maddox of Lynchburg, and Ann Maddox Burford and husband, Cody of York, S.C.; two brothers, Travis Andrew Byers of Madison Heights, and William Maddox III of Lynchburg; maternal grandmother, Shirley Howell Britt of Forest; paternal grandmother, Kay Smith and her husband, Bennie of Concord; paternal grandfather, Donald R. Byers Sr. of Lynchburg; great grandmother, Ola Brumfield of Madison Heights; and an aunt, Tammy Byers Garrett of Lynchburg. Colby is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Harold Britt.
Colby was a kind, gentle, loving person. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends playing video games. He loved animals, working with flowers and plants. Please consider your local Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
