Wilson "Bill" Marcilan Boydstun, 85, of Natchitoches died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was a retired hardware salesman for Stratton Baldwin Co. in New Orleans. He was a member of and deacon at First Baptist Church.

He was also a member of the Natchitoches Lions Club and served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Boydstun served as a scoutmaster for Troop 64 of Boy Scouts of America in Natchitoches for over 40 years.

In 1958 he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award an adult can receive in the scouting program. The award is given to a volunteer who has done noteworthy service of exceptional value to boyhood. In addition, he received the Good Shepherd Award from the Association of Baptists for Scouting and Boys Scouts of America in 1980 for distinguished service leading to spiritual, physical, mental and moral development of youth through service to the church and its scouting program.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Ethel Morris Boydstun of Natchitoches; one daughter, Carolyn Ann Boydstun Masson and husband, Clyde H. Masson of Cloutierville; two sisters, Carro Tarver of Ft. Jessup and Bobbie Lynn Sholar of Shreveport; one brother, M. H. Boydstun of Bossier City; four grandchildren, Clyde Harold "Trey" Masson III and wife, Angie, of Natchitoches, Terrilyn Ann Masson of Cloutierville, William Michael Masson and wife, Stephanie, of Natchitoches and Patrick David Masson and wife, Tonya, of Cloutierville; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Kyle Masson of Natchitoches.

Pallbearers will be Trey Masson, William Masson, Patrick Masson, Mike Boydstun, Mark Boydstun, Dr. Lisso Simmons and Dr. Rick Tarver.

Honorary pallbearers from the Natchitoches Lions Club will be Wayne Otwell, Nobel Flennikin, George Alexander and Dr. Ronald Rawson.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery.
