WEST STEWARTSTOWN, NH – Mr. Albe D. Gosselin, 80, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown with his loving family at his side.

Albe was born on Aug. 2, 1934, in Plessisville, Québec, a son to the late Oscar and Yvonne (Gagnon) Gosselin. He was one of 15 siblings who were all raised in Canada on the family farm.

Albe married Marie-Laure Dagesse in 1959, and together they owned a farm in Holland, Vt., prior to moving to Colebrook. He worked at many different places after that, including Ethan Allen, the plywood mill in North Stratford, as a carpenter for Albert Marquis, and for many years as a painter and wallpaperer in the maintenance department at The Balsams. Albe was known to never sit still, and kept himself always busy. He loved to fix old furniture in any state of disrepair, and he could often be found working on his woodpile to be ready for winter. He enjoyed helping his wife take care of the rectory at St. Brendan’s Church for many years, and Albe truly enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his three step-children, Michael Dagesse and wife Carol of Nashua, Larry Dagesse and wife Louise, and Diane Cross and partner Mark Kenny, all of Colebrook; two sisters, Madeline Pilote and husband Wilfred of Plessisville, Que., and Theresa Couture and husband Leo of Montreal; four grandchildren, Carolyn Blodgett and husband Randy of Groveton, Christian Dagesse of Colebrook, Sonya Cross and companion Joe of Ossipee, NH, and Brian Cross and wife Bridget of Columbia; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
