She was born in East Boston, MA, a daughter of Christina Ricci and Francesco Silvestro Messina.
She was a former member of the Readville Seniors' Club and the Readville Bowling League.
Dora was the beloved wife of John J. Abbatangelo; devoted sister of Gloria R. Mazzone, of Saugus, and the late Anthony, Joseph, Frank and John Messina, Rose Scaramella and Mary Bognanno. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
