Roselle was the third child of Charlie Smith Ellison and Tennessee Christine Pate. She was a wonderful story teller and played an electric guitar, that appeared huge because of her size. She often occupanied her husband in his role as an evangelical preacher, by playing music. All her children were accomplished musicians and singers, and were expected to play church music as they travelled.
